JOB PURPOSE: Provides leadership an d consultant services to ensure the relevance, appropriateness, timeliness an d quality of all training classes an d training materials required to support the worldwide service training efforts within assigned areas of responsibility. JOB DUTIES: Highest-level non-supervisory job in a career development progression starting with the Instructor an d ending with the Service Training Consultant. Advises in the planning, development, coordination an d production of all assigned service-training requirements of the service training project/product team. Provides technical expertise an d advice on multiple product lines to internal customers, business units, marketing organizations, dealers, an d subsidiary training operations. Mentors all levels of instructors an d assists the Service Training Consultants with technical an d professional development of the service training staff. Provides consulting services to dealer an d company personnel to assist in planning an d resolving critical training problems within their area of responsibility. Identifies training needs, provides guidance an d expertise in development of training programs, solves critical problems, develops an d negotiates cost estimates for deliverables submitted to business units an d marketing organizations. Assists the team leader in developing the operating budget for the service training team. Provides leadership an d coordinates with other Service Support teams on the design an d development of product support strategies. Determines material an d course content, training aids, media an d plans for assigned products. Develops, Or works with suppliers to develop, new training material concepts an d innovative materials. Develops an d writes service training products on two Or more machine Or engine product lines an d edits service-training products prepared by other instructors. Makes decisions on the type an d quantity of training materials an d instruction needed, training media an d the method used to produce the material on multiple product lines. Assists business units, marketing organization an d subsidiaries in preparing an d coordinating worldwide training plans for assigned products. Serves as company representative an d liaison with other company training groups an d instructional designers in the development of worldwide service training concepts an d strategies. Requires travel to marketing organization training centers, dealerships an d corporate training centers worldwide to teach specific courses an d to consult on service training concepts an d strategies. BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Requires a college degree Or equivalent experience in progressive training assignments involving classroom instruction, design, development, an d delivery of training courses an d materials. Should have extensive experience in staff an d field product support/service related positions with technical expertise on multiple machine models. Previous experience as a Staff Instructor an d materials developer is essential. Must possess good human relation skills an d excellent verbal an d written communication skills. Normal progression to this position would be from the Staff Instructor position.
